Watch the Restaurants Canada Rapid Recovery Series
In order to help operators reopen their business safely, as well as manage and grow their business in the ‘next normal’, in June 2020, Restaurants Canada launched the Rapid Recovery Series.
Over three days, foodservice professionals learned and gained insights from 10 free one-hour webinars that addressed some of the major challenges and pressing issues facing the foodservice industry during COVID-19 recovery.
“There is no denying that the COVID-19 situation presents our industry, and country at large, with an incredible challenge. As we move into recovery, it is important to stay optimistic while also realistic about the future,” says Shanna Munro, President and CEO of Restaurants Canada. “Our industry is a resilient one, though it may be a while until the restaurant landscape looks the way it used to, in adversity there is always opportunity; to learn, to grow, and to change. We need to consider what the ‘next normal’ will look like and how we can best adapt to new consumer needs and habits.”
All session recordings for The Rapid Recovery Series are now available to watch and you can also download presentation decks for each session as well here. However, we will also be producing overviews of all sessions with the key highlights and takeaways. All articles will be linked here as they are released in the 10-part series.

It also ensured that we informed operators of the key relief measures from government but also to gain further support for our government asks in order to proactively drive industry-focused solutions. The goal was to ensure that the foodservice industry is well supported by government decisions and actions as businesses reopen and recover.
Everyone who registered for a Rapid Recovery Series Session received a copy of the Restaurant Canada Rapid Recovery Guide, which was created to support foodservice operations with reopening and recovering from the impacts of COVID-19. The guide was designed to provide foodservice operators with a summary of recommended practices that can be implemented including, food safety, cleaning and sanitation, health and personal hygiene, and more.
